Dr. Andrew Ford

WSU Program in Environmental Science and Regional Planning 

 

Andrew Ford is associate professor of environmental science in the Program in Environmental Science and Regional Planning at Washington State University, Pullman. Dr. Ford joined the Program in 1992 after teaching in the Systems Management Department at the University of Southern California. His research concentrates on the use of simulation modeling to aid in policy analysis in the energy industry. His recent projects at WSU have dealt with the Pacific Northwest hydro electric system, the introduction of electric vehicles in California, and the management of the Snake River in Idaho. Professor Ford teaches an undergraduate course in simulation modeling entitled "Micro Computer Models of Environmental Systems (ES/RP 210) and a graduate course on "System Dynamics Models of Environmental Systems (ES/RP 550). He was awarded the System Dynamics Society's 1996 Jay Wright Forrester Award for outstanding contribution to the field of system dynamics.
