Fuel Cell
Fuel cells provide power directly to residences or businesses. In the Energy Web of the future, fuel cells may be hooked to the grid. During times the owner does not need the power, the fuel cell electricity can be sold to the utility for distribution to other customers. Unlike traditional fossil fuel plants that generate electricity through combustion, fuel cells generate through an electrochemical process from which no particulate matter is produced. As a result they don't contribute to the production of smog or acid rain. Further, much of the heat produced by a fuel cell can be easily captured and reused.
