The Associates and the Associates Foundation reach out to help others in many ways.  Here are just a few...

DICK FRENCH MEMORIAL (DFM) AND THE ASSOCIATES SCHOLARSHIP

The Associates Foundation administers a scholarship fund for the purpose of assisting the sons and daughters of Northwest Federal Employees Association members, or in the absence of sufficient qualified candidates, Associates members or their spouses, in securing college or vocational education.

The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the applicant's scholastic achievement, financial need, and promise, as well as such personal qualities as character and leadership ability. In order to be eligible for consideration by the Scholarship Committee, a candidate must meet eligibility requirements. These requirements are included in the application form that can be downloaded from this site during application time.

BLOOD DRIVES
Many of the events details are advertised through the BPA Connection, an internal electronic publication,
available to BPA employees only.

We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected. From its beginning, the American Red Cross has formed a community of service, of generous, strong and decent people bound by beliefs beyond themselves. The honor, spirit and resources of the American people comes forth with neighbors helping neighbors in need - during earthquakes, floods, fires, storms - and also for the deeply personal and often quiet disasters that require a gift of blood.

 Membership & Its Benefits

[prev]    [next]    [top]

Although the Associates has many activities that benefit non members such as the coordination of blood drives and food drives, book fairs, annual picnic, and bazaars, there are a few that are member specific. Being a vendor at the Craft bazaar, attending a very fun very inexpensive holiday skate party with your children, advertising in the WATTS News are all member only benefits.   Two programs that are member specific are caring and sharing and the Medical Equipment loan program.

CARING & SHARING

The Caring & Sharing program oversees the aid, comfort and cheer to the Associates members as circumstances arise. The Associates may grant members money gifts in major cases of emergency need; provide medical equipment such as wheel chairs and other helpful appliances available for members use; and make Presentations to members who are: hospitalized, give birth, adopt children, and finally to families of deceased members.  When you join you will be asked to fill out  a preference form and return it to the Governor in your area.  This form gives the Governor the information they need to advise the Caring & Sharing Chairperson.

A project of the Associates Foundation ~ a 501(c)(3) organization and a benefit for Associates Members.  The Associates has agreed to the Associates Foundation’s sponsorship of the long standing Medical Equipment Loan Program. These items have come to the Associates through donations and purchases. The advantage of having the program under the Associates Foundation is that donations – of new or good-condition used equipment (fair-market value) and of cash – are now tax deductible since the Associates Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. Thank you for your support!
