The Columbia Land Trust, Bonneville Power Administration and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have completed the largest purchase of riverside habitat in the Columbia River estuary in nearly 40 years, permanently protecting essential refuge for salmon, steelhead and other wildlife.

Wind generators are better equipped to squeeze every megawatt from their turbines, thanks to a practice that was virtually unheard of a few years ago. In this new way of doing business, generators are adjusting their transmission use every 30 minutes to take advantage of changing wind speeds. In the past three months, the number of scheduling revisions has gone through the roof.
