Hello, I am Bob Shank. Originally I am from Ardenvoir, WA. I grew up near the mouth of Steliko Canyon where Mud Creek comes into the Entiat River (about mile 12). I went to school, K-12, at Entiat, WA, before the construction of Rocky Reach Dam drowned the school (hurray) and the town-site became part of Lake Entiat. Presently, I am married and have three grown daughters. I live in Lacrosse, Washington.
I started my federal career with a tour in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1969-1971. When I got home I attended college at Wenatchee Valley College and Eastern Washington University and then graduate school at Washington State University. After collecting my biology and regional planning degrees, I ultimately resumed my federal career with the U.S. Forest Service and assignments on the Wenatchee National Forest and the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument from the 1980's through early 1990's.
While at BPA I have worked with the Pacific Northwest Tribes over the past 15 years on cultural and natural resource issues. The last six years I have served as a tribal liaison and have had a lead role in helping to improve communications and building stronger relationships with the regional tribes.
