This area of the BPA Web site is designed to help you quickly access topics of public interest that affect multiple aspects of BPA's mission or include both power and transmission concerns. Click on a subject title below to go to pages on that topic. (We're starting with wind power. We will add more subjects in weeks to come.)
Wind Power
BPA now transmits more than 2,000 megawatts of power from wind projects in eastern Oregon and Washington, and we expect to transmit 6,000 megawatts of wind power by 2013. See how BPA nurtures Northwest wind power, or access the technical initiatives of BPA's Wind Integration Team.
Recovery Act
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was signed into law by President Obama Feb. 17, 2009. It is an unprecedented effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save millions of jobs and put a down payment on addressing long-neglected challenges so our country can thrive in the 21st century. Learn more about what the Recovery Act means for BPA.
I-5 Corridor Reinforcement Project
BPA is proposing to build a new 500-kilovolt transmission line to meet increasing demands for electricity along Washington and Oregon’s I-5 corridor. The proposed line would run between a new substation in the Castle Rock area of Washington and a new substation in Troutdale, Ore. Learn more about the proposed project.
