How Your Comments Are Used
Public comments and information will be used to help determine the scope of the I-5 Corridor Reinforcement Project EIS, and to identify issues of concern.
The public scoping comment period was the first major public involvement opportunity for the I-5 Corridor Reinforcement Project Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). BPA has reviewed the public scoping comments we received to determine relevant issues of concern to stakeholders that might influence the scope of the environmental analysis and the alternatives considered in the Draft EIS. Comments submitted during the scoping phase helped ensure that reasonable alternatives will be analyzed and considered early in the process. BPA will use the comments to prepare the Draft EIS. BPA has prepared and posted a scoping summary after reviewing all comments received, which can be accessed on the Library page.
Comment Consideration
Although BPA held an official scoping period that closed on Dec. 14, 2009, BPA is still considering comments received after that date and until the draft EIS is written. Not all comments will be addressed or answered directly in the draft EIS, however we are using your input to shape what issues we study.
BPA also prepared a supplemental comment report that summarizes comments received after the closing date of the official scoping period.
