Kids in the Creek - Macroinvertebrate Directions
At this site you will be catching "macroinvertebrates" (tiny critters) from the stream. As you catch them place them into your white pan. After a number of "critters" have been captured, separate them out into your white ice cube trays for identification. You can use your hand lens to examine them and use your Bonneville Power Administration "critter" ID card to identify as many of them as possible. You will also need to record how many of each kind you have found.
Each team will have 3 captains:
- 1. Director: the director is responsible for making sure that the activity is completed and work is handed in.
- 2. Recorder: the recorder is responsible for recording data, drawings, and identifying of critters, and the number found.
- 3. Materials Specialist: the materials specialist is responsible for wearing the boots and using the critter nets to capture the critters.
