2008 Resource program

The Resource Program will examine the existing Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) and the various demands expected to be placed on it. This examination will determine whether the FCRPS needs to be supplemented by other resources to ensure that it can reliably meet all its power loads and non-power requirements through 2020. The Resource Program will analyze the best blend of resource types and amounts to meet these expected load obligations. This analysis will provide a framework for subsequent Requests for Proposals or other resource acquisition actions, if necessary.

BPA's Resource Program and resource acquisitions are guided by and consistent with the Northwest Power and Conservation Council's power plans for the entire northwest region. The schedule for the Resource Program will synchronize with development of the Council's Sixth Power Plan, enabling the Resource Program to rely a great deal on the Council's public process and analyses.

The Resource Program schedule will be posted and updated on this site.
