The January Project Update includes information about BPA's decision not to add a new northeastern alternative, how we're working with cooperating agencies, an update on the non-wires analysis and notice that we now have route data by segment.

BPA is evaluating potential routes for a proposed new 500-kilovolt transmission line to reinforce the power grid in southwest Washington.

Spotlight question
Q: Will BPA eliminate routes once a preferred is identified?

A: No. Once we identify a preferred alternative, we will study it very closely, but we will still consider and study the other routes and options as well.
