The I-5 Corridor Reinforcement Project
EIS Schedule

BPA has developed the following information about the environmental impact statement process and anticipated milestones in the process.

Information gathering and preparation of the EIS are completed through a number of steps:

  • Conduct scoping period and public scoping meetings;
  • consult and involve appropriate federal, state and local agencies and tribal governments;
  • prepare and release Draft EIS;
  • conduct public review, including public meetings on the Draft EIS;
  • prepare and release a Final EIS; and
  • prepare and release a Record of Decision.

The official public scoping comment period has ended, but BPA continues to accept comments. BPA is currently preparing the Draft EIS.

After BPA prepares the Draft EIS, the public will have an opportunity to review it, and BPA will hold public meetings to hear comments. A notice of the location of these public meetings will be provided at a later date through letters and on this Web site. A Final EIS is anticipated in 2012 and the ROD is scheduled to be issued in 2013. The steps in the process can also be found in BPA's NEPA Brochure and the Getting Involved Web page.
