Teaching Materials
The Kids in the Creek Stream Study packet materials contains
ecological learning tools and curriculum for field use. Lessons cover water quality
procedures for temperature, dissolved oxygen and pH as well as aquatic insect
population collecting and identifying.
These hands-on activities teach students how to determine the health of a
stream. The water quality tests are to be performed with a HACH test kit that can
be ordered and purchased from the HACH Co. - 1 800 227 4224 - Tell them you
need a testing kit with Dissolved Oxygen, pH and Temperature (thermometer only).
Sections of the "Kids in the Creek" curriculum are now available for download. Most files are in PDF format, and can be viewed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader program. The Reader program can be downloaded free from the Adobe web site.
