Rock Creek Substation
The following comments were submitted in response to the open comment period described below.
BPA is now taking comments on the proposed interconnection of up to 250 MW of power from Windy Point Partners' proposed Windy Point Wind Farm and will document a decision in a new tiered ROD.
Previously wind developers Windtricity LLC and White Creek LLC requested to interconnect up to 150 megawatts (MW) of power from the Goodnoe Hills Wind Project and up to 200 MW of power from the White Creek Wind Project to the Federal Columbia River Transmission System. In a tiered Record of Decision (ROD) issued in November 2005, BPA decided to interconnect the two wind facilities into a new 500/230 kilovolt (kV) substation to be built along the John Day-Wautoma 500-kV transmission line. This new facility, called Rock Creek Substation, requires approximately 7.5 acres of land in the Goodnoe Hills area, off Hoctor Road in Klickitat County, Wash.
