Energy Efficiency HVAC
 Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning

Energy efficient Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) provide the same cooling and heating capabilities as their standard counterparts while consuming less energy by integrating high-efficiency components and controls within their systems. Commercial HVAC measures are currently available for a variety of energy efficient HVAC technologies with new programs being developed to support our goal of achieving regional efficiency targets.

HVAC Units
 Commercial Ductless Heat Pumps

A new BPA Qualified measure has been available since April 2011. The measure now offers reimbursement for Ductless Heat Pumps in small commercial applications up to 20,000 square feet. Please see the Implementation Manual for more details.

 Heat Pumps for Commercial Buildings

A new BPA Qualified measure is available for heat pump upgrades and conversions in commercial buildings up to 50,000 sq ft. See the Implementation Manual for more information.

Unitary AC for Commercial BuildingsUnitary AC for Commercial Buildings

This BPA Qualified measure has recently been updated with new rebates and savings. See the Implementation Manual for current incentives.

 Web-Enabled Programmable Thermostats

Web-Enabled Programmable Thermostats (WEPT) are devices that allow users to modify temperature set points and HVAC controls remotely. Building owners can use WEPT to help optimize heating energy use without having to make physical site visits to manually re-program thermostats. BPA is currently offering incentives for WEPT in Modular Classrooms. Please see the Implementation Manual for more details.

There are additional commercial applications for WEPT that BPA is reviewing. These additional opportunities are currently accessible through the custom project path. Contact your Energy Efficiency Representative for more information.

Custom HVAC Projects for Commercial Buildings

Most other technologies and upgrades are available to commercial customers through the BPA Custom Project process. As an ongoing effort to increase offerings, BPA staff is working to implement streamlined and standardized approaches to many custom projects, resulting in faster turnarounds. Utilities should contact their Energy Efficiency Representative for more information.

  Emerging Technology Field Tests

Testing emerging technologies is one of the primary means of developing new offerings. For a current list of available incentives see the EE Field Test Site, contact your Energy Efficiency Representative or Rick Hodges.
