Public utilities in the Pacific Northwest serve more than 2,000 megawatts of industrial load. As regional demand increases it will become increasingly important for all users of electricity to improve their energy efficiency. In the past, annual energy efficiency savings in the industrial sector have been in the 3aMW to 6aMW range. In an effort to significantly improve upon this performance BPA has launched the ESI program, and all its various components. BPA set new aggressive goals for the ESI program as shown below. Energy savings of this magnitude will be a tremendous aid in meeting the growing energy demand in the region. The ESI program works with BPA utility customers to deliver cost-effective energy efficiency in all industrial sectors. ESI program staff are experts in industrial sector energy efficiency.
