Cathy Ehli is BPA’s executive vice president for Corporate Strategy. In this capacity, she leads major initiatives to develop a long-term strategy for BPA’s Transmission and Power business lines, as well as formulating strategies for BPA activities in the Northwest Power Pool Market Assessment Committee. A senior member of the BPA Executive Board, she advises the administrator on business and market development in the Western Electricity Coordinating Council region and formulates strategy in support of BPA positions for executive approval.
Ehli served as BPA’s vice president for Transmission Marketing and Sales from 2006 until March 2013, when she became acting executive vice president of Corporate Strategy. In her leadership role with Transmission Marketing and Sales, she set policies, business practices and strategies for the use of the BPA transmission system, including work on BPA’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission reciprocity tariff. She oversaw development and design of BPA transmission network and intertie rates, as well as daily transmission reservation and scheduling transactions including Open Access same time Information System functionality. She also identified and determined commercial business and market implications of BPA transmission policies and procedures.
Ehli, who joined BPA in 1982, held a variety of positions involving transmission policy, contracting and program analysis before becoming an executive in 2006.
Ehli has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an International Trade Certificate from Portland State University, Portland, Ore.
