BPA has posted its 2010 Resource Program (see link below). The Resource Program will help BPA determine the amount, type and timing of new resource acquisitions. The Resource Program is guided by and is consistent with the Northwest Power and Conservation Council's (Council) Sixth Power Plan, released in February 2010. The Resource Program shows that most of BPA’s incremental energy needs for the next several years can be met by meeting the conservation targets in the Council’s Sixth Power Plan and relying on short- and mid-term market purchases.
BPA worked with the Council and interested parties to ensure that the Resource Program results are consistent with the Council's Plan, taking into account BPA’s system requirements and characteristics. BPA released its draft Resource Program document for public comment on Sept. 30, 2009, and held a public workshop Oct. 14, 2009, to discuss the draft Resource Program. A workshop Sept. 17, 2010, will allow BPA to discuss the final Resource Program with interested parties. BPA expects to update the Resource Program periodically as load forecasts, the Council’s Power Plan, customer requirements and resource opportunities evolve.
With this Request for Information (RFI), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is seeking specific information about the potential supply, terms and conditions associated with the purchase of output from renewable generation resources
