BPA’s Regional Science Bowl (held at the University of Portland campus) runs on volunteer power! We need close to 200 volunteers to make this event happen each year – sign up forms accepted now through early January 2019. See bottom of page for form.

Before the event we have Friday Night Set Up! It only takes a few hours, snacks and beverages included! 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
We will have the following shifts available on event day: Morning 7 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Partial Day 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and All Day 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. (includes final competition and help tear down competition rooms and put materials on rolling carts.)
We need Judge/Timekeepers (setting/resetting buzzer lights, use stopwatch to monitor time during competition, collaborate and make judgements during competitions), Moderators (read questions during team competitions, keep the competitions moving along, make the tough calls when teams interrupt, blurt out answers and reign in disruptions from the audience), Scorekeepers (fill out scoreboard during team competitions), Clean up crew (light housekeeping, nothing major!), Door holders, Runners (typically staffed by kids age 9 years and up is preferred – running scores from competition rooms to score room), Information table, Check in, Score room (data entry of scores into system), Set up crew, Greeters, Team lunch cooler monitor (label and watch over the team lunch coolers while they compete), Volunteer room monitors (checking in volunteers, passing out volunteer gear), Catering monitor for three buildings (making sure we receive the food we have ordered) and Team t-shirt/bag distribution.
