The administrator has not yet made a decision about the I-5 Corridor Reinforcement Project. BPA continues to perform and prepare its analysis to inform the administrator’s decision. BPA recognizes the potential stakeholder and cost impacts of such a decision, and remains committed to making the right investment at the right time. BPA conducted a regional transmission review between February and September 2016 with various Northwest utilities that impact the I-5 transmission corridor. This process reviewed the methods and assumptions that determined the need for the project. BPA also continues to analyze multiple project drivers in greater depth. If BPA decides to build the transmission line, it would prepare and issue a record of decision that announces and explains the decision to build the project. The record of decision also would identify which route alternative BPA chose to construct.
