Birdtrack Springs & Longley Meadows Fish Habitat Restoration Project [Wallowa County, OR]
BPA is proposing to fund the Birdtrack Springs Restoration Project, which is located within the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and adjacent private lands in the Upper Grande Ronde River, Oregon.  The project is a partnership between the Bonneville Power Administration, Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, United States Forest Service, and Bureau of Reclamation.  The project goals are to benefit ESA-listed Pacific Salmonids and their habitat through excavating channel meanders, removing artificial constraints, increasing off-channel connectivity, and increasing instream complexity though placement of large wood structures.  The final EA was released for public comment which has ended in December.  The USFS objection period has been completed with no outstanding objections.  Negotiations for the Cultural Resource adverse effect determination, Memorandum for Agreement, is currently underway.
