The Bonneville Power Administration is proposing to fund habitat restoration on Kerry Island in Columbia County, Ore. If BPA decides to fund the project, Columbia Land Trust will conduct restoration actions on Kerry Island located along Westport Slough approximately one mile east of Westport, Ore. Proposed restoration actions include levee removal, ditch filling and tidal channel creation to restore tidal function, as well as invasive vegetation control and native vegetation planting to improve habitat and water quality. The restoration would improve habitat for 13 Endangered Species Act-listed salmon and steelhead species, as well as other fish and wildlife species. BPA is analyzing the potential impacts of the proposal as required under the National Environmental Policy Act. As part of the NEPA analysis we are asking that you help us determine which issues should be addressed in the environmental analysis.
