Mary Hawken was named acting executive vice president and chief financial officer in June 2017. As CFO, she oversees BPA’s financial operations which include capital allocation, management of the agency’s $15.6 billion debt portfolio, accounting, liquidity management and budgeting for BPA’s $4.3 billion total budget. She had been serving as deputy chief financial officer.
Hawken began her career at BPA as a student in Finance and has worked in variety of roles. Her most recent position before becoming the deputy was as the manager of Finance’s Analysis and Requirements group which provided support and consultation on a wide variety of financial issues as well as managed the Quarterly Business Review meetings and the Integrated Public Review process.
Hawken lives in Tigard, Oregon, with her husband Nic and has two sons. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Willamette University and a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from Lewis & Clark College.
