Michelle Manary was appointed as the executive vice president of Finance and chief financial officer in September 2018. As CFO, she oversees the capital and debt management program, accounting, cash management and budgeting for BPA's $3.7 billion total budget.
Manary joined BPA in 1998. During that time, she has held several management positions within the agency, including Corporate, Power and Transmission.
From June 2015 to October 2018, Manary was the vice president for Transmission Marketing and Sales. This organization is responsible for transmission sales, customer relations and contracts, transmission commercial automated systems, products and rates, the open access tariff and available transfer capability.
Manary acted as the vice president of Northwest Requirements Marketing from October 2014 to June 2015. This organization is responsible for marketing power for BPA customers across the region in western Montana, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and parts of Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Northern California.
Previously, Manary worked as the director of Strategy Integration at BPA.
Manary has a Bachelor of Science in finance from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon, and Masters of Business Administration and Public Administration from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.
Manary leads a very active personal life, volunteering in community outreach programs such as Young Life and Blanket Coverage for the homeless. She loves hiking and other outdoor activities.
