BPA and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) have signed a draft Coordinated Transmission Agreement (CTA) to formalize existing practices and data exchanges, as well as improve the management of energy imbalance market flows on our interconnected transmission systems. In anticipation of the CTA between BPA and the CAISO becoming effective on July 1, 2017, BPA and the CAISO intend to hold the first working group meeting this summer with regional EIM Entities and a limited group of BPA’s transmission customers that do not participate in the EIM. The working group is established under section 3.3 of the CTA to discuss implementing the agreement, data and information exchange, and transmission operations.
