Business Practices Currently Out for Comment

Customers are encouraged to submit comment period extension requests to techforum@bpa.gov at least 2 business days before a comment period end date. Comments received after a comment period close date will not be addressed in the comment response document.

Process Information

Eligible customers or entities wishing to propose a modification to an existing business practice or a new business practice are encouraged to contact their assigned Transmission Account Executive prior to submitting a proposal.

Redline - Preemption of Short-Term Transmission Service

Comment Period Closed: 9/9/2022

On October 7, 2022, BPA issued a Tech Forum suspending the business practice process for Version 5 of the Preemption of Transmission Service business practice due to potential settlement of the conditional reservation deadline for hourly firm service in the TC-24 Tariff Proceeding. With the completion of the TC-24 Tariff Proceeding, the suspension is lifted and the business practice is finalized as of 3/13/23 with a 10/4/2023 effective date.

BPA Response to Comments

Category B

The 15-minute scheduling on the Pacific Direct Current Interconnection (PDCI) will only be available on tags between BPA transmission customers and LADWP. BPA is working with CAISO to initiate 15-minute schedules between BPA transmission customers and CAISO at a later date.
