BPA will provide a high-level overview of its LARS process. LARS is a new structured, repeatable process that focuses on local capacity to interconnect load and does not consider long-term firm transmission availability or generator interconnection. It will consider customers’ longer term, more prospective 20-year forecasts for loads. In preparation for the first LARS process, BPA will select one local area to study based on BPA’s engineering judgement and expertise. At the workshop, BPA will provide additional details on the process and the five initial candidate load areas under consideration.

Prior to the meeting, LARS materials will be posted to the Transmission Business Model webpage.

Immediately following the LARS meeting, BPA will provide an update on the Northwest AC Intertie. This will use the same Webex as the LARS meeting. Materials are available on the BPA's Intertie page.
