The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is proposing to build a new transmission line, substation, and perform various other system upgrades under the South of Tri-Cities Reinforcement Project. This is part of a broader effort in the Tri-Cities area to reinforce the BPA transmission system to address reliability, flexibility issues and reduce system maintenance.

The proposed South of Tri-Cities Reinforcement Project would include a new substation and 115-kV transmission line. The new transmission line would connect BPA’s existing Badger Canyon Substation located off Leslie Road in Richland to a new Webber Canyon Substation proposed to be built near County Well Road approximately 16 miles west of Richland.

BPA is hosting an open house on the project to provide information to the public and answer questions.
