High-voltage Electricians

Install, adjust and repair major BPA electrical equipment as a High Voltage Electrician!

Duties

  • Install and adjust major electrical equipment including power transformers, power circuit breakers and other important substation equipment.
  • Maintain, repair and test diagnostics of major electrical equipment.
  • Conduct emergency repairs when necessary.
  • Perform work in shops on equipment components. Test, repair and modify items including bushings, motors, small power tools and other miscellaneous items.

Requirements

  • Recent training and/or experience in the trade which can be evaluated as providing the skills and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position.
    • Experience may have been obtained by a formal training program in electrical work approved by the Federal Committee on Apprenticeship.
  • Ability to perform the work of a high-voltage electrician without more than normal supervision.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance tools and equipment used in electrician work and instruments used in shop and trade practices.
