Field Electronics Engineers

Ensure safe and reliable operations of BPA power systems through preventative maintenance as a Field Electronics Engineer!

Duties

  • Plan and oversee preventative maintenance to ensure operability, reliability, security and compliance with BPA and other regulatory agency policies.
  • Engineer for system integration, modification, design, troubleshooting, installation and failure analysis for power systems and control systems.
  • Work remotely at substations and telecommunication sites around the district.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following education requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET or a program that includes differential and integral calculus and courses in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: statics, dynamics; strength of materials; fluid mechanics, hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials; and any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics or electronics
    OR
  • College-level education, training and/or technical experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical; and mathematical science underlying engineering, and a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering science and techniques and the applications to one of the branches of engineering

Applicants must also possess the following:

  • Mastery of, and skill in applying, expertise in advance electronics engineering concepts and procedures
  • Knowledge of the techniques, principles and policies of project management and/or project engineering in order to participate in a range of project management and/or project engineering activities
