Chris Wilk became BPA’s executive vice president and chief information officer in December 2024, after serving in an acting capacity earlier in the year. 

He maintains overall responsibility, oversight, direction and accountability for BPA’s Information Technology, Operational Technology, Cybersecurity and Technology Innovation programs as well as other information-related functions. This includes all related policy, strategy, risk management and regulatory compliance issues. He also ensures the Chief Information Office executes in line with BPA’s financial targets and strategic priorities.  

As a member of BPA's senior leadership team, Wilk is responsible for serving as the principal adviser to the administrator and other senior executives regarding the use of technology to improve business processes and bottom-line results. 

Wilk has accumulated more than 17 years of experience in the technology space, shaped by leadership roles in military service as well as the private and federal sectors. He began his career as an officer in the US Army and served with the 10th Mountain Division as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He is the recipient of several awards and decorations including the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge. 

In 2021, following roles in the private sector and Department of Defense, Wilk joined the Southeastern Power Administration as its Chief Information Officer where he was responsible for leading the agency’s IT, OT, Cybersecurity, Federal Records, and Information Security programs.  

Wilk has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Colorado, a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University and a Master of Science from Western Governors University. He also has a Project Management Professional certification and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
