Mike Miller was named senior vice president of Transmission Services in October 2025. In this role, he is responsible for BPA’s high-voltage transmission grid, including 15,000 circuit miles of high-voltage line spanning a service area of 300,000 square miles. Specifically, he oversees Transmission System Operations, Planning and Asset Management, Engineering and Technical Services, Field Services, Marketing and Sales, Transmission Technology, Transmission Internal Operations and Aircraft Services.

Miller previously served as BPA’s vice president of Transmission Engineering and Technical Services where he was responsible for overseeing transmission design, project management, real property services, commissioning and technical services for the agency’s transmission system.

Miller joined BPA in 1992 as an engineering student trainee in the Protective Relaying Design organization. He took on his first management position in 2002 as the supervisor of Protection Engineering and Record Revisions. In 2011, he became manager of System Control Engineering.

A lifelong Washingtonian, Miller graduated from Fort Vancouver High School in 1989. He received a bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in 1992 and a master’s degree from Western Governors University in 2018.
