Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and execute studies of marked difficulty and responsibility in support of the functions of Generation Asset Management, and in support of the Federal Columbia River Power System.
  • Apply engineering, scientific and/or mathematical modeling techniques and procedures.
  • Analyze data through computational processes and compares data from various reference sources.
  • Perform, interpret and correlate various calculations, analyses and computations for unknown factors or relationships with multiple variables.
  • Perform technical work to support the development of reservoir operation strategies; support model simulation activities.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical science, engineering or mathematics that includes 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials and electronics 

    OR
  • Combination of education/experience: education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience, or additional education.

Applicants must also possess the following:

  • Ability to perform and interpret calculations, analyses, and computations for unknown factors
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply a wide range of complex professional engineering, scientific and/or mathematical principles and practices sufficient to serve as a general engineer, physical scientist, or operations research analyst
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply analytical processes and techniques
