Our Work

In 2015 the team modeled the total savings from 45 federal appliance standards. These standards represent a significant energy resource, and were used to develop the Northwest Power and Conservation Council’s 7th Plan baseline and as inputs into the regional load forecast.
Since January of 2015, 19 new standards were adopted. Preliminary analysis indicates that the savings under these new standards could be as large as 1,400 aMW through 2035. However, recent policy changes make the future of these energy savings less secure, and BPA is waiting to see if the regulations are maintained before committing resources to further savings analysis from standards.
